Jonathan Gets Back to Work with Help from LandAjob

Jonathan Fasick knows a thing or two about helping people in need. It was a lesson he learned when he was very young growing up in Tennessee.
“There was one Christmas and my sisters, and I have opened up our presents and we had a nice tree,” said the Kingsport resident. “We heard a little boy in the trailer park didn’t have anything so we packed everything up and took it to him so he would have Christmas.”
When he wasn’t working because of his disability, it was Fasick who needed help and he got from LandAjob. A nonprofit organization, LandAjob helps Americans with disabilities get up to $13,000 in job-related expenses when they go back to work. You can find out more at www.landajob.org for more information.
“There are normal expenses you need to pay to live,” said Fasick, 50. ”LandAjob offers you funds you never knew about and gives you a little extra. I need to go on Social Security (disability) and LandAjob allowed me to go back. They made me feel like I could go back.”
When individuals decide to back to LandAjob helps them get a job with a job database of more than 600,000.
“They are great people (at LandAjob),” said Fasick. “They go beyond to help you and they are a great bunch.”
Fasick’s work career has been about helping others. He worked in a hospital as a sitter, keeping a bedside watch on patients to keep an eye on their welfare. “They are unable to take care of themselves,” he said. “You learn a different set of skills.” Fasick made sure patients did not hurt themselves by trying to get out of bed or take out their IV tubes.
He knows works for a company that helps people with roadside service, moving up into a supervisory role. Fasick has been there for three years and enjoys his job.
With the help of LandAjob, Fasick is glad to be able to back to work and help people like he always has.
“It’s good to be working again,” he said. “(LandAjob) makes it a really simple process and they work with you.”
